Paddar is a beautiful valley of kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir State, surrounded by beautiful mountains and peaks, covered with never melting snow . The world famous Blue Sapphire mine is located here at the height of 15000 feet appt.Sumcham is the last village of Jammu division . From here one can see the famous blue sapphire mine.  Which is worldwide famous as Kashmir Sapphire.
People of different religions are living here in a peaceful way . They major population of Paddar is Hindus , fallowed by Muslims and handful of Buddhist people who are living at  far off villages in the lap of Himalayas....

Gulabgarh is the centre of trade . One can get daily usage commodities here . It is last bus stop. There is daily bus service from Indra Chowk,  Jammu to Paddar. It starts ealy morning 3:30. and reaches gulabgarh at 3 or 4 pm. The distance is 298km. Its hilly road but beautiful .

Paddar valley is connected with Pangi valley(Himachal Pradesh) from one side motarable (east of gulabgarh) and other side is connected with Zanskar plateau by foot via famous Omasila(17770 feet appt.) , this famous la (pass) was used by General Zorawar Singh to attack Ladakh ...And also other trekking routs that connects Paddar with Zanskar

Paddar valley is full of natural beauties and virgin Peaks N Passes which needs to be explored to boost the economy of state in general and the economy of Paddar valley in particular. The State Tourism Department should come farward to explore the tourism potentialities of the area so the local unemployed youth can be engaged in various tourism activities...
There are peaks like Brahma , Bharanzar (sickle moon) tunpendu , whose height are above 6000 mts and glaciers and other passes like kabonla , poatla ,umasila etc which needs to be fully explored and utilised for the welfare of the people of the area....
In 2011 , the famous European mountaineer  David Lama and his  team came to Paddar and summit  Peak  Cerro kishtwar(6200 meter above sea level) This beautiful peaks lies in the back of Sumcham village .
 In sept 2015 Swiss mountaineers Stephan siegrist, Thomas senf and Dres abegglen visited our village kaban and summit Meha dev Phobrang(6062 m),tupendo 1 ( 5700m) and tupendo 2 (5600m).
the Swiss mountaineers Stephan Siegrist,Dres Abegglen and Thomas Senf first climbed three shapely mountains, all of them almost 6,000 meters high: Bhala (also called “Spear”, 5,900 m), Tupendeo (5,700 m) and Te (translated “Crystal”, 5,900 m), each of them on challenging routes.The mountain area had been closed to foreign visitors for a long time, until it was reopened in 2003. “The region was simply somewhat forgotten”, Stephan Siegrist tells .

 How to reach Paddar :
Those whose are coming from abroad , they need to land at Delhi or can fly to Srinagar or Jammu airport.
From there one can easily find taxi for kishtwar , the district of Paddar. The distance between jammu to kishtwar is like 240 kilo meters. Whereas the distance between Srinagar to kishtwar is much shorter and beautiful  via Samthan top.
One can stay at Srinagar( Kashmir)  for three/ four days for to enjoy the beautiful lakes and houseboats and tourist spots like Gulmarg , Phalgam , Sonamarg  and many more places to  see.

At kishtwar one can find many lodges and hotels ranging 200 ruppee per night to 1000 rupee per night double bed room.
From kishtwar one can easily get share taxi as well as booked taxi for Gulab Garh paddar , the centre hub of Padder valley and also the last bus stop. The distance between kishtwar  to Gulab garh Paddar is 62 kilo meters. Here one can find lodges and guest houses ranging 200 to 500 per night.

One  of the famous trekking route of Paddar is Omasila trek.

This valley remained cut off for foreign tourists for quite long time... But in recent years some foreign mountaineers and trekkers showing interest in this valley as in here lies the some of best peaks to be climb like sickle moon.. cerro kishtwar ... tepundue .. kishtwar shivling and many peaks ...
In 2015  Swiss mountaineers been to my village Kaban and summit beautiful peaks there...
Paddar valley is a promising destination for mountaineers as there are so many peaks to be climbed ...

Padder valley of district kishtwar is becoming famous among trekkers as well as peak climbers as
this part remain cut off for the rest of the world for
pretty long time because of some political unrest in the state ... Now things are changing and many international climbers are coming in this small area which is full of peaks .. virgin as well as technical peaks ....

Kaban is a small village in padder valley itself.
